Lodging

We have negotiated discounted room rates at Ventura Beach Crowne Plaza, the same hotel location where the Symposium will occur. Please reserve a room through our website by Sept. 21 to receive the discounted rate. Getting to Ventura

• Flying: Major airlines serve Ventura through nearby Oxnard, Santa Barbara (~30 minute drive), Burbank, and Los Angelese International Airports (~1 hour drive).
• Airport Shuttle Service

• Bus Service:
  • VISTA: 800-438-1112, www.goventura.org
  • Gold Coast Transit: 805-487-4222, www.goldcoasttransit.org, provides bus service throughout Ventura County
• Train: Amtrak offers the Pacific Surfliner, which runs from San Luis Obispo to San Diego and stops in Ventura. Amtrack also offers the Coast Starlight, which runs from north of Redding, through Sacramento, Oakland, and Salinas to Los Angeles. The train station is walking distance to the Ventura Beach Crowne Plaza.
• Metrolink Rail: 1-800-371-5465, www.metrolinktrains.com, serves Los Angeles Union Station to Ventura during peak hours of travel; six trains per day.
• Carbon offets: If you are concerned about the carbon emissions created by your travel to the Symposium, please visit the EPA's Personal Emissions Calculator to determine your "carbon footprint." Then donate to the organization of your choice, such as Terrapass or the Pacific Forest Trust.
