PlantRight campaign

Visit the PlantRight web site

PlantRight is a campaign designed by the Cal-HIP partnership to protect California wildlands from invasive plants being introduced through horticulture. PlantRight promotes safe and beautiful alternatives to invasive horticultural plants. With this information, people throughout the horticultural community can make smart choices about what they grow, recommend, sell, and plant. Visit the PlantRight website for more details.

The state's weed workers can play an important role in getting the word out. You can tell others in your community about the damage caused by invasive plants locally. During winter 2007/2008, Cal-IPC is asking weed workers to (1) have your organization or WMA send a letter introducing PlantRight to your local nurseries, and (2) let other weed workers know about PlantRight. It's a great opportunity to support nurseries as influential partners during this transition and celebrate their initiative. Use the materials provided below to contact nurseries in your community!

In spring 2008 -- garden season -- we ask that weed workers set up presenatations with local garden clubs. These opinion leaders will help lead other consumers to support PlantRight. Cal-IPC can provide a PowerPoint presentation and brochures.

Please take advantage of the resources we've included here to support you in your outreach. We will continue to post supporting materials as they are developed.
