Risk Mapping for Early Detection

Example map

Updated November 2009 with many more species and climate change maps!

Cal-IPC, in partnership with UC Davis, the California Dept. of Food & Agriculture, and the state's network of Weed Management Areas (WMAs), conducted statewide surveys of wildland weed abundance and rate of spread to support early detection programs. We mapped this data in conjunction with climatic modeling for some species to project where each plant could spread in the state. Maps for each plant surveyed to date are available from the pick lists below. Additional species will be added as maps and models are completed. Maps are based on input from local weed workers, and updates are welcome (contact info@cal-ipc.org).
