Erechtites glomerata (cutleaf burnweed) and E. minima (Australian burnweed) are annuals or short-lived perennials in the Asteraceae family. They are among the most serious plant pests on the Channel Islands and also occur along the mainland coast. Erechtites spp. move quickly into disturbed areas and are widespread in disturbed sites within North Coast redwood forests. They can also invade undisturbed grasslands.
